- 1). Measure and cut 22-by-26-inch pieces of both batting and fabric using a ruler and scissors.
- 2). Lay the fabric on your work surface with the printed side of the fabric facing down. Lay the batting on top of the fabric.
- 3). Lay the canvas face down centered on top of the quilt batting. Wrap the batting and fabric to the back of the canvas along the top and bottom edges of the canvas. Staple them to the wooden canvas frame using the stapler.
- 4). Repeat the wrapping and stapling process along the side edges of the canvas. Tuck the excess fabric and batting from the top and bottom edges under the fabric and batting from the sides when you reach the corners.
- 5). Measure and cut four 10-inch pieces of elastic ruffle ribbon using the ruler and scissors.
- 6). Staple one end of an elastic ruffle ribbon piece every 4 inches along one of the 20-inch sides to the wooden frame on the back of the canvas, starting 4 inches in from one of corners.
- 7). Stretch the elastic ruffle ribbon pieces straight down the front of the canvas and wrap their other ends to the back of the canvas. Staple the ends in place. The stretched elastic ruffle ribbon straps hold photos and pieces of paper to the board.
