- 1). Break off a piece of translucent polymer clay and warm it up by rolling it in your hands.
- 2). Brush on some mica powder. Moonstone typically has a blue iridescence, so blue powder is best, but other colors are acceptable.
- 3). Mix the mica powder into the clay by rolling it in your hands.
- 4). Warm up a small piece of white clay and mix it into the translucent clay. Do not blend completely. This will help create flaws and veins that emulate a natural stone.
- 5). Form the clay into the desired shape. For an easy cabochon, roll the clay into a ball in your hands, then gently flatten it against a flat surface.
- 6). Brush on more mica powder for extra shine, if desired.
- 7). Coat the piece with liquid polymer clay.
- 8). Bake in an oven at the manufacturer's recommended time and temperature. Translucent clay is often prone to burning, so monitor your piece closely during the baking process.
- 9). Coat the clay with transparent glaze, if desired. Wait for the clay to cool before adding any glazes.
