- Each Toshiba 15LV505 television uses thin-film transistor (TFT) and liquid crystal display (LCD) for its screen display, which measures 15.6 inches diagonally. Toshiba sets the native resolution at 1,366 by 768 pixels. The TV's channels are split into 2 to 13 for Very High Frequency (VHF), 14 to 69 for Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and 1 to 125 for Cable TV (CATV).
- The DVD player of the Toshiba 15LV505 was primarily made for playing DVD video discs, both single- and double-sided. It accepts the DVD-R/RW format for recordable DVDs. Customers can also use the 15LV505's DVD player to listen to audio CDs or operate Video CDs. However, other optical disc formats such as DVD-RAM, DVD-ROM, CD-ROM and Photo CD are not compatible, and DVDs used for the 15LV505's optical disc player must adhere to the NTSC (National Television System Committee) color system.

The HDTV's 120-volt 60-hertz AC power supply consumes up to 35W in operating mode, but a lessened 0.8W in standby mode.
