- 1). Locate the desired location of your door on the outside of the wall. Use your level, tape measure and crayon to mark out the outline for your frame. These marks should be 2 inches larger than the inside of your door frame.
- 2). Cut out the opening with your concrete saw. Be sure to wear all of your safety equipment and clear the area of any bystanders. Grasp the handle of the saw firmly with your left hand, turn the choke on full and pull the starter cord. Reduce the choke to 1/2 and pull the cord again to start. Squeeze the throttle and warm up the saw.
- 3). Turn off the choke, hold the saw firmly with both hands and lift the saw. Place the blade to your line, squeeze the throttle, sink the blade in to the stop, and cut on the lines. Follow all three lines and cut completely around the opening.
- 4). Go to the other side of the wall. Mark your lines to match the cuts outside. Cut the opening as before. Cut the top line last while you have an assistant push firmly on the loose block so that it will fall outward when complete. Use your sledgehammer and chisel to even up the edges and floor.
- 5). Remove the door from its frame with your screwdriver. Place the frame into your opening, using your rubber mallet to tap it in if it is too tight. Use your level to ensure it is plumb. Drill through the frame with your bi-metal bit and into the block with your masonry bit. Make three holes into each side and two into the top of your frame.
- 6). Push your anchor bolts into the holes. Tighten the anchors with your screwdriver. Hang the door back onto the frame. Cut the tip off of the caulk tube and puncture the diaphragm inside with the cut and puncture tools on the gun. Caulk the seams between concrete and metal. Your door is ready for use.
