- 1). Take the putty knife and try to scrape the plaster off, taking care not to damage the surface beneath. Add some water and scrape again if only small remnants are left.
- 2). Mix a cleaner containing trisodium phosphate (TSP) with water, following the ratio on the cleaner bottle, in a bucket. Dip a wire brush into the bucket and scrub the plaster. If this works, use water to rinse the cleaner away.
- 3). Rinse out the bucket. If there is plaster that won't come off with TSP, mix one part vinegar to five parts water in the bucket. Use your wire brush to scrub the plaster. This should be corrosive enough to get rid of any remaining stucco plaster.
