- 1). Insert the driver CD into your computer. If you don't have the CD, download the drivers from the sound device manufacturer's website.
- 2). Click "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Device Manager."
- 3). Click "Sound Controllers" and select your new sound device.
- 4). Click "Driver," then "Update Driver." Select the drive containing the driver files (either the CD drive or the location on the hard drive where you saved the downloaded drivers). Windows will install the driver files, completing the installation of your new sound device.
