Instructions for Bi-fold Doors

    • 1). Install the long metal track that comes in the kit to the top of the door frame. Line up the track so that it is positioned in the center of the top of the door frame and so that the ends of the track that has the plate in it butts up against the top side of the door frame. Use the screws that came with the door kit and screw them into the holes in the metal track with either a Phillips head screwdriver or a power drill.

    • 2). Attach the floor bracket to the bottom of the door frame. Position the bracket so that it butts up against the bottom of the door frame and the wall. Place the bracket on the same side of the door frame that the plate in the upper track is against. Screw the floor bracket to the bottom corner of the door frame and the bottom of the wall using the screws that came with the bi-fold door kit and a Phillips head screwdriver or a power drill.

    • 3). Insert the dowels into the pre-drilled holes on the bi-fold door. Set the dowel that contains the spring assembly into the hole on the top of the bi-fold door that is closest to the edge of the door. Set the standard dowel into the second hold in the top of the door. Set the dowel that contains the screw assembly into the hole in the bottom of the door. Gently hammer the dowels into place.

    • 4). Install the dowel that contains the spring assembly into the hole on the pivot plate in the track on the top of the doorway. Install the bottom dowel into the floor bracket on the bottom of the door frame. Install the standard dowel into the track on the top of the door frame.

    • 5). Screw the dowel with the screw assembly on the bottom of the door to adjust the height of the door.

    • 6). Locate the center of the front panel of the door with a measuring tape. Make a pencil mark on the center of the door and drill a hole into the pencil mark. Screw the doorknob that came with the bi-fold door kit into the hole.
