- 1). Restart your Windows XP computer with your Windows XP Service Pack 3 installation CD in your CD drive. Your computer will automatically boot off of the CD, loading the Windows XP Service Pack 3 installation program.
- 2). Click "Next" to install the program. The first thing that appears (as is common with the installation of all Microsoft products) will be a Terms of Service page. Carefully read over the Terms of Service, which outline exactly what you can and cannot do with your operating system. Click "I Agree" and then "Next" to continue.
- 3). Continue through the Windows XP Service Pack 3 installation utility by clicking "Next" every time the option appears. The installation utility will outline some of the new features present in the upgrade, as well as ask you to input a few pieces of information (for example, if your administrator account has a password, you will be prompted to enter it). Click "Finish." Windows XP Service Pack 3 will install itself from your CD.
