- 1). Double click on the "Computer" icon. Double click on the "C:" hard drive.
- 2). Double click the "Windows" folder. Open the "System 32" folder the same way.
- 3). Press "W" on the keyboard to skip to the files that begin with "W." Locate the following two files: "wgatray.exe" and "wgalogin.exe."
- 4). Delete those two files by holding down "SHIFT" and pressing the "DELETE" key.
- 5). Press the "Windows key + R" to open the "Run" window.
- 6). Type "regedit" and press "Enter" to open the registry editor.
- 7). Click on "File" and select "Export."
- 8). Type in a descriptive name for the backup file and click "Save." A descriptive name may include the date and file type. For example, "RegBackup (15-aug-10)" makes it easy to identify the file for later use if necessary.
- 9). Click the "+" next to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE," expand the "SOFTWARE" group and scroll down to "Microsoft."

Expand the "Microsoft" group, click the "+" to expand the "Windows NT" group, expand "Current Version," then open the "Winlogon" group. - 11
Right click on the "Notify" folder and select "Delete." - 12
Confirm the selection and restart Windows to complete the process.
