- 1). Clean your travertine before sealing. Travertine will react negatively to many common household cleaners that contain acids like lemon or vinegar. Therefore, it is important to use a neutral cleaner. Apply the cleaner and allow the tile to dry thoroughly when finished.
- 2). Apply the sealer with a microfiber cloth. If your travertine is pitted or textured, it will need more sealer due to its porous nature. Be careful not to allow the sealer to pool or puddle on the tile. Clean up spills and drips immediately.
- 3). Allow the sealer to completely dry before walking on or using your travertine tile. Drying times will vary depending on the sealer used.
