- 1). Grasp the nut with your Allen wrench and turn the nut clockwise to loosen and remove the nut from the stud. If there is a nut on each side of the stud remove both nuts.
- 2). Spray one end of the nut with an aerosol lubricant.
- 3). Twist both nuts onto the stud with your fingers.
- 4). Grip the bottom nut with one wrench and hold it steady. tighten the top nut to the bottom using the other wrench by turning the nut counter clockwise until it is tight to the bottom nut. Make sure the two nuts are fit together as tightly as possible.
- 5). Grip the bottom nut with the wrench and turn it counterclockwise. The stud should loosen along with the nut. When it is loose enough, simply remove the stud.
