- 1). Click "Start" and then "Control Panel." In the Control Panel, click the "Device Manager" tab. This will allow you to access all of the devices on your machine.
- 2). Click "Sound, Video and Game Controllers." You will see a drop-down menu for all of the audio devices connected to your computer. Select the audio device that you are attempting to reinstall. Click the "Properties" tab to access the screen that contains the driver information.
- 3). Click "Uninstall Driver" to remove the software for the audio device from your hard drive. This will completely uninstall the device and prepare you for another installation.
- 4). Connect the audio device to your machine and wait for the drivers to be installed. If you need to manually install the drivers, download the latest copy of them from your audio device manufacturer's website. Click "Run" to reinstall the drivers once they have downloaded. At the bottom of the screen, you will receive a message saying that the installation was successful.
