- 1). Download and run CCleaner. A free version is available on the company's website.
- 2). Check "Windows Error Reporting," "DNS Cache," "Start Menu Shortcuts," "Desktop Shortcuts," "Old Prefetch data" and "IIS Log Files." Leave the remaining defaults checked.
- 3). Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
- 4). Click the "Registry" button.
- 5). Click "Scan For Issues."
- 6). Click "Fix selected issues."
- 7). Click "Yes." Save the registry file.

- 9). Press the Windows logo key and "R" simultaneously.

Type "msconfig" without quotes and press "Enter." - 11
Click the "Services" tab. - 12
Check "Hide all Microsoft services." - 13
Uncheck unnecessary programs, such as reminders and updaters. - 14
Click the "Startup" tab. - 15
Uncheck unnecessary programs, such as reminders and updaters. - 16
Click "OK." - 17
Click "Restart." When the computer restarts, it has been cleansed and operates faster.
