- 1). Put on all safety gear before beginning. Do not remove your goggles or face mask until the project is complete and you have cleaned debris from the work area.
- 2). Begin to enlarge the crack. Use the chisel and hammer to cut away and remove a few pieces of concrete surrounding the damage. Hold the chisel at a 45-degree angle, and then hit the end of the handle with the hammer.
- 3). Use the wire brush to dust off the concrete. Spray some water on the large hole.
- 4). Stir the premixed concrete compound in the bucket, using the dowel to combine its elements in case of settling within the package.
- 5). Fill the hole with the compound. Use the putty knife to scoop and press the compound tightly into the hole. Pack it down with the trowel
- 6). Use the trowel to also smooth the concrete over the surface. Scrape the excess with the edge of the trowel.
- 7). Allow 24 hours to 48 hours of drying time.
