- 1). Spray the tree daily with water. Screw a high-pressure nozzle onto the end of a garden hose. Spray as high into the tree as possible, spraying all branches and as many leaves as you are able.
- 2). Regularly rake leaves and litter from around the tree, and dispose of all gatherings in a trash bag. Keep surrounding grass trimmed and clean, mowing and weed-eating as needed.
- 3). Put on gloves. Cover visible spiders within arms reach with a jar. Immediately screw on the lid. This process allows you to rid the trees of spiders close to the ground, without the use of chemicals.
- 4). Hang sticky fly traps from the tree. Not only will they catch flies and other insects, but spiders attempting to attach webbing to the traps get trapped as well. Check the traps daily and change them as needed.
- 5). Wear protective clothing and glasses. Spray the tree with an insecticide labeled for spider control. Follow all manufacturer's instructions.
