- The Toshiba M45 satellite laptop is a small netbook that was designed to help users to get their work done while on the go. While it may not be the fastest, toughest computer on the market, it still wields enough power to perform common laptop tasks, like watching a movie or taking care of some emails or a late-night book report. There are two models of the M45 available, but both have the same hardware specs. The only difference between the S169 and the S1691 is the operating system--Windows XP Home for the SI69 and Windows XP Professional for the S1691.
- The Toshiba M45 runs on a 1.60GHz Intel Celeron Processor, with an integrated video and sound card. The laptop is configured with two sticks of 512MB of DDR SDRAM, and has an 80GB hard drive. It also features an S-Video output port, three USB 2.0 ports, and the traditional Ethernet connection port.
- The M45 has microphone-in and audio-out jacks for connecting to friends or listening to music. You can also make use of the computer's DVD SuperMulti drive, which is compatible with most common DVD formats, including dual-layer discs that can hold over eight gigs of data.
- The laptop weighs in at about 6 pounds depending on how it is configured, with a 15.4-inch LCD screen operating at a native resolution of 1280 x 800. The M45 is 14.17 inches wide and 10.6 inches long, and 1.45 inches tall when closed. It runs on a rechargeable battery that provides an average usage time of two hours.
