Alternatives to No Credit Check Cell Phone Plans

The cell phone industry is changing very quickly. In today's down economy the credit requirements to get a cell phone are getting more and more strict. This makes it tougher for the average person to acquire a cell phone without having to put down a deposit.

If you have no credit or bad credit, cell phones are usually limited to a couple of options:

1. - Get a Prepaid Cell Phone or a no credit check pay as you go phone

2. - Put down an expensive deposit before you select your phone and your plan

With each of these options there are pit falls to look out for. With prepaid cell phone plans you usually end up paying for overpriced minutes and you're charged for a whole minute even if you're on the phone for less than 30 seconds.

If you put down a deposit for your cell phone plan it will range from $300 to $700 depending on how many phones are on the plan. Keep in mind that's before you choose your phone and your plan.

As you can see both these options are quite expensive in the long run no matter which way you go. If your credit history is less than perfect or you don't have any credit at all be sure you do your research to find the best company.

Even though the economy is down and credit requirements are more strict, it doesn't mean you don't deserve a cell phone. There is an alternative. You'll find companies out there who will give you a cell phone without the hassle of a deposit or the expense of a prepaid cell phone plan. Some of them will even give you a very extensive coverage area with your plan.

The wireless industry is a multi billion dollar industry so it's not like they need more of your money. So if your options are limited be sure you shop around to find the best deal you can find. Don't let slogans like "This is the best deal, you won't find it anywhere else" prevent you from looking around. I promise there is always a better one out there. I know you've heard that you're getting the best deal before so be sure you take the time to research each company and ensure you're going to get the best bang for your buck.

Be sure you ask about call reliability and coverage area, customer service, whether or not they report to consumer credit agencies, and whether or not there are roaming fees. If you are considering a prepaid cell phone be sure you ask what the per minute rate is, anything over 8 cents per minute is too much! If you're considering a normal contract phone ask about a rebate on your deposit within 12 months or it may not be worth it. It's your money! These are the types of questions you want to be aware of so you don't get scammed or ripped off.

If you don't have any credit or less than perfect credit it already costs you a whole lot more just to live. Be sure you take the time and extra effort to research each company and I promise you won't regret it in the long run. It will save you loads of cash and a few serious headaches if you do your homework properly.
