- 1). Purchase a plain lampshade that is the appropriate size to pair with a lamp. Make sure the width of the bottom border of the lampshade is wide enough for you to sufficiently glue trim to it--at least one-half inch.
- 2). Measure the circumference of the inner edge of the bottom border of your lampshade with a seamstress tape measure. Write down this measurement--you'll need trim that is at least this long to embellish your chandelier lamp.
- 3). Buy an embellished, beaded trim that matches your lampshade's color and texture. The color, style and theme of the trim should also enhance the qualities and decor of the room. To truly make your lamp a chandelier lamp, the trim must have dangling ornaments, beads or crystals that will hang from the bottom of the lampshade. Use the measurement from Step 2, add 2 inches to it and purchase at least this much trim.
- 4). Heat up your glue gun. Starting at the back seam of the lampshade, apply a line of glue to a portion of the lampshade. Press the trim against this bead of glue and against the lampshade, with the decorative side facing out. Apply pressure to the trim long enough for it to adhere. Work your way around the lampshade in the same fashion until you reach the seam, again. Cut the trim where it overlaps slightly. Glue the end down. Examine your work, and apply any extra glue where it seems the trim isn't stuck down adequately. Allow the glue to dry.
- 5). Assemble your new chandelier table lamp by putting the lampshade on your lamp, with the lampshade's seam to the back. The trim should hang downward and sway with your lamp.
