- 1). Clean the fiberglass antenna with ordinary dish soap. Rinse the antenna with wet rags and dry it with towels.
- 2). Abrade the fiberglass antenna to enhance surface adhesion by sanding it with 180-grit sandpaper. Stop sanding when the antenna feels slightly rough.
- 3). Protect areas near the antenna you do not want painted by covering them with masking paper, plastic coverings and painter's tape.
- 4). Coat the fiberglass antenna with acrylic spray primer. Maintain a distance of about 8 inches between the spray nozzle and the antenna. Wait two hours for the primed antenna to dry.
- 5). Coat the primed fiberglass antenna with acrylic spray enamel. Maintain a distance of about 8 inches between the spray nozzle and the antenna. Wait two hours for the painted antenna to dry.
