- 1). Connect the storage device you wish to format, such as an SD card or USB flash drive.
- 2). Click the "Start" menu, followed by "Computer."
- 3). Right-click the device located in the subsequent window's left-hand column. Click to select "Format" from the context menu options.
- 4). Click the "File System" drop-down menu and select the "exFAT" option. Optionally, check the "Quick Format" box if you wish to format the disk without fully eradicating all existing files. This files will be removed (or replaced) by newer files you install in the future.
- 5). Click "Start" followed by "Yes" on the confirmation dialog to start formatting. The process normally takes less than one minute to complete
- 6). Click "Close" when finished to exit the menu.
