Laptop quick facts for beginners

Laptops are probably one of the gadgets that a person must have nowadays. NOt because a person isn't cool if he doesn't have one, it's just that laptop is now a necessity especially if you're the type of the person who is always on the go and is always out there in the field. If you have a laptop and an internet connection, it doesn't matter where you are, you'll always be connected to the world.

What's a laptop computer?

If ever for some reasons you've just woke up after 2o years of sleeping and you don't know what a laptop is, wikipedia defines it as a personal computer designed for mobile use and small enough to sit on one's lap, that's the reason why it's called laptop. It provides most of the capabilities of a desktop computer with similar lever of performance if not the same.

The first laptop computer

The first laptop that is accepted by historians was released in 1981, it's called the Osborne 1. It was released in 1981. It weighed about 24.5 pounds (now I can't imagine carrying that around) and it has a 64k memory. It had a 5" built in monitor and two 5 1/4 floppy drives. Wanna know how much it cost back then? It's like buying a brand new Dell XPS today, it's for a whooping 1795 dollars. Talk about being expensive.

Since the launching of the first laptop in 1981, it has significantly evolved into a more power and complex machine. The current major companies who develops laptops are, Asus, Apple, Acer, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HCL, Hewlett-Packard commonly known as HP, Lenovo, MSI, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba?
