- 1). Spray over the countertops with stone soap, designed for use on granite, and wipe off with a damp cloth. Read the package label of your solution to make sure it has a disinfectant quality.
- 2). Mix your own cleaning solution if the stone soap you have on hand does not disinfect. Pour 2 cups water, 1/2 tsp. dish soap and 1 tbsp. rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle. The alcohol disinfects and causes no damage to the granite.
- 3). Spray the mixture onto the granite countertops and wipe off with a damp cloth.
- 4). Dry the granite with a clean rag to prevent water streaks or spotting.
