- 1). Lay down old newspapers or cloth to thoroughly cover the work area.
- 2). Wipe down bottles with alcohol to remove any leftover dirt or residue.
- 3). Take strips of cloth and measure around the circumference of the bottle. Cut strips to match the circumference of the bottle, leaving a 1/2 inch overlay.
- 4). Place a stencil of your choice and decorate the bottle fully utilizing the paint and your paintbrushes. Make sure to leave a 1/2 inch border at the top and bottom of the bottle that is clear of paint and design.
- 5). Allow the holder to dry for at least 18 to 24 hours.
- 1). Now that the drying process is complete, glue the strips on the spaces left during the first stage.
- 2). Give the strips two to four hours to take firm hold.
- 3). Use glitter, glass beads and glue to decorate the cloth and accentuate the painted designs.
- 4). Allow the entire holder to dry overnight before you light your first candle.
