- 1). Cut the oven's power. Simply unplug or turn off the breaker in the fuse box.
- 2). Pull the oven from the wall so the rear panel is accessible. If an anti-tip plate is installed, you must lift the front of the oven, then pull straight out.
- 3). Remove the screws securing the upper rear panel of the oven, then remove the panel.
- 4). Locate the ribbon connecting the touch pad to the electronic range control.
- 5). Remove the ribbon, then clean all the copper connections with a pencil eraser.
- 6). Plug the ribbon back into the touch pad, but leave it disconnected from the electronic range control board.
- 7). Replace the rear panel of the oven, then push the oven back against the wall and restore power.
- 8). Allow the oven to sit for at least 24 hours. If the error code reappears, then the problem lies within the electronic range control board. If no error code appears after 24 hours, follow the above steps to reconnect the ribbon connecting the touch pad to the electronic range control board. If the error occurs, then the issue is with the touch pad.
- 1). Disconnect power to the oven, then pull away from the wall and remove the upper rear panel.
- 2). Remove the screws securing the electronic range control board or touch pad to the oven, then remove.
- 3). Peel the front off the touch pad if replacing, then stick it onto the front of the new touch pad, if necessary.
- 4). Place the new touch pad or electronic range control board into position, then secure using the mounting screws.
- 5). Transfer the cables from the old touch pad or electronic range control board to the new component.
- 6). Replace the rear panel, and secure it using the screws you removed.
- 7). Push the oven back against the wall, then restore power to complete the repair.
