- 1). Open Outlook and select "File" on the menu bar. Click on "Open" and select "Outlook Data File." Browse your computer and locate the personal information folder. When you locate it, click on the folder and select "OK."
- 2). Locate the personal information folder in the Navigation Pane. The folder should display a plus sign on the left side of the personal information folder. This is your indicator that there is additional information stored in the folder. Click on the plus to expand the folder. Review the expanded folder and click on the "Contacts" folder in the Navigation Pane.
- 3). Open the archived contacts by clicking on the archived contacts folder. Review the contacts that have been recovered from the personal information folder. If necessary, copy contacts from this folder and place them into your current personal information folder. To copy a contact, click on the contact. Click "Edit" on the menu bar and select "Copy." Open your current personal information folder and select "Edit" on the menu bar and select "Paste."
- 4). Close the folder when you are done reviewing it. Select the archived personal information folder and select "Close" once you have reviewed and recovered your archived contacts.
