- 1). Press "R" and the "Windows" key simultaneously. Type "taskmgr" (without quotes) in the "Open" field and click "OK." Open the "Processes" tab. Right-click "wgatray.exe" and click "Delete. Exit the Task Manager.
- 2). Click "Start" and click the arrow button next to the lock icon to select "Restart." Tap the "F8" key repeatedly until the advanced boot menu launches. Use the arrow keys to scroll down to "Safe mode" and press "Enter."
- 3). Click "Start." Type "c:\Windows\System32" (without quotes) in the "Search" field and press "Enter." This will launch the System32 folder. Select "WgaTray.exe" and press "Shift" and "Delete" at the same time. Click "Yes" when the "Delete Shortcut" prompt appears.
- 4). Press "R" and the "Windows" key simultaneously. Type "regedit" (without quotes) in the "Open" field and click "OK." This opens the Registry Editor. Follow this registry path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicrosoftWindows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify - 5). Right-click the folder "Wgalogon" and select "Delete." Exit the Registry Editor.
- 6). Restart your system.
