- 1). Cordon off the area where the scratch is located so there is no foot traffic while you are repairing the scratch in the floor.
- 2). Apply the liquid sanding agent from the hardwood floor kit to the edge of a clean rag. Wipe across the length of the scratch with the rag's moistened edge. Remove the rag when the surface of the wood is thoroughly wet.
- 3). Wait two hours. Wipe across the length of the scratch with a clean, dry part of the rag.
- 4). Apply the bonding solution from the kit to the edge of another clean rag. Wipe the rag across the length of the scratch. Repeat this procedure until the scratch is no longer visible. Let the bonding solution set for two hours.
- 5). Apply the clear finish-coat solution from the kit to the edge of a third clean rag. Wipe the moistened rag across the length of the scratch. Repeat this procedure until you can see a slick coating on the scratch. Let the floor dry for two hours before letting anyone walk on it.
