    • 2). Place a towel or small blanket on a flat surface to work on and place your laptop on top of it.

    • 3). Open the top of your laptop and pull off the switch plate to your computer. There is a small notch on the right-hand side of your computer, above the keyboard. Gently pry underneath the plate with a flat-head screwdriver to lift it out.

    • 8). Flip your laptop over to expose the underside again and place it on your workspace. Unscrew the screws connected to the hard drive, which are each marked with a cylinder symbol. Slide out the hard drive.

    • 9). Unscrew the rest of the screws from the back of your laptop using a Phillips screwdriver. Lift off the flat plates covering the memory and the wireless card.

Press your thumb on the small lever on the underside of the laptop holding in the battery and slide it over. If there are two levers, slide both over. Remove the battery.
