HP 533W Specs

    • The Hewlett Packard Pavilion 533w is a desktop computer that was introduced on November 29, 2002 and was sold at Wal-Mart in a bundle with a keyboard, mouse, Polk Audio speakers, a 17-inch monitor and a DeskJet 3320v inkjet printer. It is an entry-level computer with an Intel Celeron processor and runs the Windows XP Home operating system.

    CPU & Memory

    • Befitting an entry-level home computer, the Pavilion 533w uses a 2.0 gigahertz Celeron as its central processing unit. It has a 400 megahertz front side bus and is installed in a motherboard with Intel's 845GL chipset. The 533w supports up to 1 GB of PC1600 or PC2100 DDR DRAM, although only 256 MB of PC2100 DDR DRAM are installed in one of the motherboard's two memory slots.

    Audio & Video

    • Intel's Extreme Graphics controller runs the computer's video display by sharing up to 64 MB of the computer's main memory. The computer also has a built-in AC '97 compliant stereo audio system.

    Drives & Storage

    • HP sells the computer with three drives installed. The fixed hard drive is a 60 GB unit that connects over the Ultra DMA standard. It also has two drives with removable media--a 3.5 inch, 1.44 MB microfloppy drive and an optical drive which can read DVDs and read, write and rewrite CDs.

    Connection Options

    • Internally, the 533w has two open PCI slots, one open RAM slot and two open drive bays--one for an internal hard drive and one for an external 5.25 inch device. It also has six USB 2.0 ports in addition to serial, parallel and PS/2 legacy ports. Since the computer comes with both an on-board Ethernet adapter and a modem, it has RJ-11 telephone and RJ-45 Ethernet ports. Its audio system has both inputs and outputs and its on-board graphics controller has a VGA port.
