- 1). Remove the lens from your Canon digital camera. The procedure varies from one model to another, so check your user manual for specific instructions. Put protective plastic caps on the lens as well as the camera body.
- 2). Remove the lens cap from one end. Use the blower to remove any dust. If necessary, place a small dab of cleaning solution on the microfiber cloth and rub the lens in a circular motion. Use a dry part of the cloth to wipe the lens clean.
- 3). Replace the lens cap. Repeat Step 2 on the opposite end of the lens.
- 1). Use the camera menu to enter manual cleaning mode. Menu settings vary on Canon cameras; refer to the user manual for details. Remove the cap from the camera body. Hold the camera with the open lens mount facing down.
- 2). Use the blower to shoot air into the camera body. Continue blowing air into the camera body for several minutes, making sure to blow air in every direction inside the camera body. Do not place the blower inside the camera or touch any internal parts with the blower nozzle.
- 3). Inspect the sensor for dust. If the sensor is dust-free, put the cap back on the camera body and then exit cleaning mode in the camera menu.
