- 1). Pour a paint thinner into a disposable cup large enough to hold your small brush or brushes. Fill the cup with paint thinner to completely engulf the bristles of the small brush.
- 2). Fill another cup with warm water. This will be used to clean and rinse the paint thinner and paint from the brush.
- 3). Insert the small brush into the cup filled with paint thinner and allow it to soak for 15 minutes.
- 4). Remove the brush from the cup filled with paint thinner and place the bristle end into the cup filled with warm water. Swish the brush around in the cup to loosen the paint between the bristles.
- 5). Remove the small brush from the cup filled with warm water and hold it under running water. Apply a small amount of soap to the brush. Use your fingers to work the bristles of the brush, making sure to remove all of the paint and paint thinner from within the bristles while holding it under the running water.
