- 1). Check the box containing the new toner to see if it includes a return shipping label. Many laser toner resellers include a prepaid shipping label that allows buyers to ship their old cartridges back for recycling.
- 2). Contact the store or website where you purchased the replacement toner and ask if they have a recycling program in place. Many toner sellers and office supply stores have their own recycling programs in place.
- 3). Place the old toner cartridge in the plastic bag the new one came in. Wrap the cartridge in plastic wrap if the bag is torn or not available. Place the wrapped toner cartridge in the box and tape the box shut securely with packing tape.
- 4). Attach the label that came with the replacement toner cartridge to the box, or print off a return label from the seller's website. Tape the label securely to the box, then take it to the shipping center of your choice to return it for recycling.
