- 1). Unplug the cleaner, and take the recovery and clean solution tanks out of the machine. Set them to the side.
- 2). Attach the bare floor tool. Lean the floor cleaner all the way back so you can access the front of the base of the machine. Position the attachment on the front of the machine's base, where it normally sucks cleaner and dirty water from carpeting. The end of the attachment features an arrow to aid you in correct placement. Click the attachment into place by turning it back toward you as you push it against the nozzle.
- 3). Set the cleaner back upright. Recline the handle, put the recovery tank back in place and lift the handle upright again.
- 4). Fill the cleaner's water tank, placing Hoover bare floor cleaner into the detergent compartment. Put the water tank back into the machine.
- 5). Plug the machine into a working electrical outlet, recline it as you would to clean carpeting and turn it on.
- 6). Hold the spray trigger as you push the cleaner from front to back to wet the area.
- 7). Let go of the spray trigger and go back over the area to suck away dirty water.
- 8). Rinse the bare floor attachment in water when you clean the rest of the machine.
- 1). Unplug the cleaner from its outlet. Take the water tank from the machine and place it to the side.
- 2). Pull the hose from its rack on the machine.
- 3). Recline the cleaner's handle all the way back and take the lid off the recovery tank.
- 4). Pull the panel from the front of the recovery tank by pulling it upward. Slide the converter on the end of the hose back down into the panel's former location until it will go no farther.
- 5). Access the "Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection" port on the front of the cleaner's hood. Open the door, then pull the hose tube's tan collar toward the tube to fully expose the black tabs. Push the connector into its slot in the door.
- 6). Put the recovery tank lid back onto the tank. The front hooks underneath tabs on the tank's front, then the lid goes down on the tank until it clicks. Lift the cleaner's handle to upright again.
- 7). Fill the water tank with clean water, and pour Hoover deep-cleansing detergent into the detergent compartment. Replace the tank on the cleaner.
- 8). Push the tool onto the end of the hose until it locks.
- 9). Plug the cleaner in, and turn it on. Place the upholstery/stair tool on your hand to create a blockage. After about 15 seconds, move your hand away and depress the trigger. If solution comes out, you can begin cleaning.
- 10
Spray the stair or upholstery with solution by depressing the trigger as you hold the tool over the area. Place the tool on the stair or upholstery, depress the trigger again and pull it over the surface. Let the trigger go. - 11
Go back over the area without holding the trigger to suck up dirty water and solution. Move on to the next strip, overlapping by about 1/2 inch. Continue until your stairs or upholstery are cleaned. - 12
Remove any liquid from the suction hose when you are finished by holding its end in the air with the unit on. After unplugging the cleaner and removing the hose, hold the round end over a sink and hold the opposite end in the air to allow all water to drain. Push the trigger to remove liquid from the spray nozzle.
