- 1). Boot up your computer and back up any information you want to save to an external location, such as a USB flash drive. While uninstalling SP3 shouldn't harm your computer, backing it up is always a good idea whenever you are performing a major change on the operating system.
- 2). Click "Start," open the "Control Panel" and then open the "Add/Remove Programs" section.
- 3). Check the "Show Updates" box, then find the update labeled "Windows XP Service Pack 3."
- 4). Click the update, then click the "Remove" button that appears. Once the removal is done, click the "Finish" button and the computer will restart and the settings will be finalized.
