Wine Related Crafts Ideas

    Wine Bag

    • If you can sew on a button, you can make a bag to wrap a gift bottle. Choose a cloth napkin large enough to wrap around a wine bottle. Wrap the napkin around the bottle, then pin the cloth together and take out the bottle. Use thread to sew three buttons over the overlapped cloth, leaving a few inches loose at the top and bottom of the napkin. Place a bottle inside and turn it over. Close the underside of the bag with clothes pins or by sewing the edges together. Tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle so the ends of the napkin hang over the ribbon.

    Glasses

    • Personalize a set of wine glasses with acrylic enamel paint. Use thin paint brushes to create designs, letting each layer of paint dry before painting another color on top. When you're done painting, let the glasses dry completely. Place a cookie sheet in a cold oven, then place the glasses on the sheet. Turn the oven on to 325 degrees, then bake the glasses for 30 minutes. Let the glasses cool on the cookie sheet. Wash the glasses by hand after use since the paint may be ruined in the dishwasher.

    Wreath

    • Display all the corks from your favorite bottles by turning them into a wreath. Collect 22 corks. Drill thin holes through the corks. One hole should be 1/4 inch from the top of each cork and another hole about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom. String green floral wire through the bottom holes to form the corks into a ring. String another piece of wire through the top holes, adding a bead in between corks. Cut the wire off and tie the ends together to keep the wreath together, then tie on a hanger made from a loop of ribbon.

    Labels

    • Design your own personalized labels to decorate wine bottles to give as gifts or decorate your home. Buy plain adhesive labels from a craft store. Decorate them with markers or paint. You might also create a design on your computer, then print it onto the labels. Soak a bottle of wine in warm water until the label softens, then gently scrape it off with a razor. Let the bottle dry completely, then affix your personalized label.
