How to Reinstall a Taxcut State

    Instructions for Windows

    • 1). Open the H&R Block At Home TaxCut program on your PC.

    • 2). Click the "Tools" button on the menu bar.

    • 3). Click the "Re-install State Program" option.

    • 4). Choose the state in which you are filing taxes from the list of states that appear.

    • 5). Click the "Re-install" button at the bottom of the screen.

    • 6). Follow the instructions as indicated in the installation window. The program will then download the latest state requirements from the Internet.

    Instructions for Mac

    • 1). Click the "Spotlight" button in the upper-right corner of the screen and type "H&RBlock" (without quotation marks).

    • 2). Choose the first option that appears under the "Folders" subheading.

    • 3). Highlight the file that represents the state in which you are filing taxes. The folders are named in the <state>.bundle format, where "<state>" represents the standard postal abbreviation for the state. IN.bundle, for example, would be the folder containing the documents required for Indiana taxpayers.

    • 4). Delete the folder by dragging it to the trashcan located in your dock or by pressing "Command" + "Delete" on your keyboard.

    • 5). Locate and open the folder called "Completed Updates."

    • 6). Locate the .dmg file for the state you wish to reinstall (for example, IN.dmg).

    • 7). Open the .dmg file.

    • 8). Double-click the <state>.bundle file located inside the .dmg file.

    • 9). Follow the instructions as they are presented on the screen. The software will then download the latest state updates and reinstall the state program into the TaxCut suite.
