- 1). Remove any loose dirt from the seats with a vacuum cleaner. An attachment will help to remove any dirt trapped in the crevices of the seats.
- 2). Combine a capful of bleach and 3 to 4 tsp. of liquid dish washing detergent into a 1 gallon bucket. You can add ½ cup of powdered color-safe bleach instead of regular bleach if you worry about fading the color on the seats. Fill the bucket with warm water.
- 3). Dip a scrubbing brush or sponge into the cleaning solution. Scrub the seats to remove mold, mildew and unsightly spots.
- 4). Rinse the cleaning solution off with clear water. Continue to scrub and apply the solution to the dirty areas of the vinyl seats. Rinse.
- 5). Dry the seats off with clean towels. This will prevent mold from forming on the seats again.
- 6). Apply a vinyl protector to the seats. You can purchase this at most boat shops and automotive stores.
