How to Make Windows XP Work Like Windows 98

    • 1). Turn on and boot your computer as you normally would.

    • 2). Right-click on your "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your screen.

    • 3). Select "Properties" from the option screen displayed.

    • 4). Choose the "Start Menu" tab from the new window.

    • 5). Click the empty circle next to "Classic Start Menu" on the screen.

    • 6). Click the "Apply" button on the bottom of the screen.

    • 7). Right-click on any blank section of your desktop screen.

    • 8). Choose "Properties" from the options given.

    • 9). Click on the "Themes" tab at the top of the new window.

      Choose "Windows Classic" from the drop-down box on the screen.

      Click on the "Appearance" tab at the top of the screen.

    • 12

      Choose "Windows Classic Style" from the drop-down menu under "Windows and Buttons."

      Click "Apply" at the bottom of the screen.

    • 14

      Reboot your computer when prompted by the system to make Windows XP work and look like Windows 98.
