- 1). Turn on and boot your computer as you normally would.
- 2). Right-click on your "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your screen.
- 3). Select "Properties" from the option screen displayed.
- 4). Choose the "Start Menu" tab from the new window.
- 5). Click the empty circle next to "Classic Start Menu" on the screen.
- 6). Click the "Apply" button on the bottom of the screen.
- 7). Right-click on any blank section of your desktop screen.
- 8). Choose "Properties" from the options given.
- 9). Click on the "Themes" tab at the top of the new window.

Choose "Windows Classic" from the drop-down box on the screen. - 11
Click on the "Appearance" tab at the top of the screen. - 12
Choose "Windows Classic Style" from the drop-down menu under "Windows and Buttons." - 13
Click "Apply" at the bottom of the screen. - 14
Reboot your computer when prompted by the system to make Windows XP work and look like Windows 98.
