- 1). Go to "Start" and type "cmd" in the search box.
- 2). Right-click "cmd" in the search list and select the "Run as administrator" option. The command prompt will open.
- 3). Type "powercfg.exe /hibernate on" and press "Enter" on your keyboard.
- 4). Type "exit" and press "Enter." The command prompt window will close.
- 5). Go to "Start" and click the small arrow button located to the right of the "Lock" button. The "Hibernate" option will be listed in the context menu. Select "Hibernate" to put your computer in hibernation mode.
