- 1). Remove as much of the paint as possible from a fresh stain by blotting it with a paper towel.
- 2). Apply some rubbing alcohol to a clean white cloth. Blot the stain, continuing until the stain is gone or until no more paint is picked up on the cloth. Do not scrub back and forth; blot and rub in one direction at a time.
- 3). Place several layers of paper towels over the area just cleaned, set a brick on them, and let it sit for a few minutes. The towel will soak up any paint that may be wicking up from the backing. Repeat this process until the towels are no longer absorbing anything.
- 4). Remove the brick and paper towels and allow the carpet to air dry.
