- 1). Place a bag of ice on the wax. Wax becomes hard and brittle when cooled. You could also put the towel in the freezer for five minutes to freeze the wax.
- 2). Scrape the cold wax off with a spoon or a dull knife.
- 3). Plug in an iron, place on a low setting, and allow it to warm up.
- 4). Lay the towel flat and place a piece of butcher paper or a paper towel over the wax stain.
- 5). Move the iron slowly over the paper covered wax. Lift the paper and check on how well the paper is picking up the wax. Repeat with fresh paper until the wax is removed.
- 6). Treat wax residue with laundry detergent. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes.
- 7). Wash using the towel manufacturer's recommended settings for the washing machine. Add detergent, bleach, or color-safe bleach to the washing machine and wash the towel. Dry as usual.
