How to Make Folding Legs on a Corn Hole Set

    • 1). Draw intersecting lines on a 16-inch-long piece of two-by-four lumber to mark the spot where the the leg will attach to the frame. Draw a vertical line at the midpoint of the width of the two-by-four. The midpoint will not be at the 2-inch mark since a two-by-four is not actually 2 inches thick; it is more like 1 ¾ inches. Draw a horizontal line 1 ¾ inch from the edge of the two-by-four.

    • 2). Place the tip of the compass at the intersection of the lines. Draw a half circle extending out to the edges of the board.

    • 3). Follow the half circle lines you have drawn and use a hand saw or miter saw to remove the corners of the board. Sand the edges to make them smooth. Your leg now has a rounded edge that will enable it to clear the game board frame in the folded position.

    • 4). Determine the spot where the leg will attach to the game board. Turn the game board over so that the plywood surface is facedown. The legs will attach to the length side of the game boards near the top. Place a piece of scrap two by four along the edge of the top part of the frame as a spacer from the frame of the game board to where the leg will be attached. Clearance is needed for when the leg is in the folded position. Set the leg inside the frame along the long part of the frame, next to the scrap wood with the markings facing out. Draw an extended vertical line from your leg to the frame. Draw a horizontal line on the frame at the midpoint, which again should be around 1 ¾ inch. The bolt will be placed at the intersection of these two lines through the center of the frame and leg.

    • 5). Make an indentation in the wood using a nail or screw to mark the spot where the leg will attach to the frame. This will help guide the drill bit. Drill a 3/8-inch hole through the side of frame and leg. Begin your hole with a small drill bit and gradually work your way up to 3/8 inch.

    • 6). Place the leg with the rounded side towards the game board surface on the inside of the frame. Slide the carriage bolt in the hole from the outside of the frame, through the frame and the leg. Slide the washer on the end of the bolt after it has passed through the leg and loosely tighten the wing nut. Fold the leg out to the playing position. Completely tighten the wing nut. You will now be able to fold your game board legs for easy storage. Repeat this process for each leg of your game boards.
