- 1). Place a drop cloth under the chair or couch that you are going to spray. This will protect other areas from over-spray.
- 2). Shake the can of Scotchgard thoroughly mix the product before use.
- 3). Keep the nozzle at least six inches away from the surface of the fabric and spray in even sweeps across the furniture. Do this until you have one light coating across all of the fabric.
- 4). Allow the first coat to dry for about an hour before applying a light second coating.
- 5). Allow the second coating to dry before using the piece of furniture.
- 1). Remove all furniture and rugs from the carpet that you want to protect.
- 2). Vacuum the area before spraying.
- 3). Shake the can of Scotchgard well to thoroughly mix the contents.
- 4). Spray the entire area of carpet with one light coat.
- 5). Allow the first coat to dry for at least one hour before applying a second coat.
- 6). All the carpet to dry completely before walking on it again.
