How to Share a Sprint Wireless Modem

    Create a Network

    • 1). Plug the Sprint modem into your computer either through USB or an Ethernet cord.

    • 2). Open the start menu in Windows; navigate to the control panel and select "Network and Sharing." Click "Create a New Wireless Network."

    • 3). Click on the Sprint wireless modem when the network creation wizard locates it on your computer. Your computer will attempt to search for any modems or routers connected to the computer.

    • 4). Type in a user name, phone number or password issued to you by Sprint to activate the modem. Contact Sprint if you are using the modem for the first time, in case the customer service department needs to activate the modem. Access your account online to see if your modem has been added to your account, if you have registered for online access.

    • 5). Create a name for your network that is specific to you, so other users who access your network will know it is your wireless network.

    • 6). Create a distinctive password to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your Sprint wireless network. Give your password only to those whom you know need access to your wireless network.

    Sharing Your Network

    • 1). Have your guest click the "Start" menu and navigate to the control panel using her computer.

    • 2). Click "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing Center." Click " Connect to the Internet." Click "Connect to a network" if the option for "connect to the Internet" is unavailable.

    • 3). Click the name of the Sprint wireless network that was created. Input any passwords to access the network, if prompted.

    • 4). Open a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox) and visit a web page.
