- 1). Unplug the Senseo coffee maker.
- 2). Pull the water tank outward, away from the Senseo coffee maker. The water tank is the clear tank on the backside of the coffee maker.
- 3). Lift up on the top of the water tank to remove the cover that blocks half of the opening to the tank.
- 4). Fill the sink with hot water and a squirt of liquid dish soap. Add the water tank and cover with the hot water. Allow it to soak for five minutes.
- 5). Clean the inside and outside of the tank thoroughly with a dish towel or sponge.
- 6). Rinse the cover and tank under cool running water to remove all soap residue.
- 7). Place the water tank and cover on a dish towel to dry. Place the water tank with the opening facing downward, so all water drains from inside the tank. Once dry, place the cover back on the top of the water tank and push the water tank back into the backside of the coffee maker.
