- 1). Spot check the tile-cleaning product you plan to use by applying a small amount to your abrasive ceramic floor tiles in an inconspicuous area. After about 30 minutes, check the tested area. If there is no damage or discoloration, move on to step 2.
- 2). Vacuum the abrasive ceramic floor tiles thoroughly, taking care to get in between cracks and crevices and under furniture by using the attachments that come with your vacuum.
- 3). Put on your rubber gloves and fill a bucket with warm water. Add the appropriate amount of tile-cleaning product, according to manufacturer's instructions.
- 4). Dip your mop into the solution and begin to move it across the floor, putting pressure on the mop. Repeat several times until you have covered all of the abrasive ceramic floor tiles. Because your tile is abrasive, you can use a good amount of pressure with the mop, so don't be afraid to scrub hard.
- 5). Dip your sponge into the solution and use it to attack any stubborn spots on the floor tiles that didn't come up when you used the mop. The sponge also can be used to get into crevices and spots between furniture that the mop couldn't reach.
- 6). Dump out cleaning solution and fill the bucket with warm water. Rinse out the mop, making sure to get rid of all of the cleaning solution.
- 7). Dip the mop into the clear water and run it over all of the abrasive ceramic floor tiles, rinsing it clean of any remaining residue. Allow the floor to dry completely before stepping on it.
