- 1). Click the "Start" button on the left-hand side of the Windows task tar. Enter "regedit" into the search text box and press "Enter." This opens your windows registry.
- 2). Right-click the first main registry key labeled "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" and select "Permissions." This opens a permissions configuration window.
- 3). Click the "Advanced" button. Click the "Owner" tab. In the "Current Owner" text box, enter "Administrator" and click "OK."
- 4). Click "Yes" in the confirmation window that asks if you are sure you want to change owners for the registry key. Repeat these steps for the subsequent three registry keys.
