- 1). Disconnect the dryer from its electrical outlet. Loosen the screw on the band clamp that secures the flexible dryer vent hose. This connects to the vent port located in the bottom rear corner of the dryer. Pull the vent hose off the vent port and slide the dryer away from the wall.
- 2). Slide two putty knives into the front of the dryer between the bottom of the dryer's top plate and the top of the dryer's front plate. Position the knives at each corner. The knives will push in on the locking tabs and release the front top of the dryer from the front panel.
- 3). Lift up on the top of the dryer and locate the screws that secure the top of the front panel in place. Remove the screws with a screwdriver.
- 4). Pull the top of the front panel forward. Lift the front panel off the retaining clips located at the bottom of the dryer.
- 5). Locate the door switch wiring harness behind the front panel and unplug it. Place the front panel off to the side.
- 6). Locate the two screws holding the inspection plate onto the back of the dryer. Remove the screws with a screwdriver. Take the drive belt off the motor pulley. Go to the front of the dryer.
- 7). Lift up on the belt and drum. Pull the drum forward to remove the ball mounted to the bottom of the drum from the socket mounted to the bottom of the dryer's framing.
