- 1). Place the computer on the desk or table. Make sure you have plenty of room to reach the back of the unit.
- 2). Connect the monitor cable to the analog monitor port on the back of the computer. This port will be small, blue and nearly square. Turn the thumbscrews and make sure they are tight.
- 3). Look for a white connector on the back of the computer. Not all Samsung computers will have this port, but if yours does, connect the digital monitor cable from your monitor to this port. The cable on the monitor will also be white in color to make it easier to identify. Turn the thumbscrews and make sure they are securely fastened.
- 4). Locate the USB ports on your Samsung computer. Most new Samsung computers will have plenty of USB ports, while older models often have just a few. These ports are small and flat, and they are typically located on the front and the back of the computer in banks of two or four.
- 5). Insert the keyboard and mouse into two USB ports on the computer. Make sure the tabs are firmly seated in the USB slots.
- 6). Attach a printer if you wish. To connect the printer, connect the square end of the USB cable into the back of the printer and the flat end into a free USB port on your computer.
- 7). Attach the power cord to your Samsung computer and turn it on. During the initialization period a number of Samsung-specific drivers are installed--do not turn the computer off until this process is complete. Insert the Samsung set-up CD when prompted--this will install additional drivers your Samsung computer needs to operate properly.
