- 1). Plug the second iPod into one of the USB slots on the computer.
- 2). Open the iTunes program. Wait until the iPod that you plugged into the computer in step 1 is listed underneath "Devices" in iTunes. At this point, a window may open (depending on the version of iTunes on your computer and the settings of the first iPod). If a window does open, close it by clicking "X" or "No." Proceed to step 3 if no window opens or if you've closed the window.
- 3). Click the tab named "Summary" at the top of iTunes. When you click this tab, a list of different options will appear inside the center window.
- 4). Select "Manually manage music and videos" inside the center window.
- 5). Click "Apply" at the very bottom of iTunes to be able to use a second iPod on your computer and manually control what songs are on each device.
